Last week we heard reports of an alligator or crocodile being spotted in the water of Cascade Creek in SW Rochester. On friday I received an email from a listener that lives in the apartments near Cascade lake confirming there was indeed a 4-6 foot alligator in the waters of Cascade Creek.
Last night someone sent me the first known photo of the alligator at Cascade Lake in Rochester. The animal does look to be 4-6 feet long. .
Some people I spoke with about the alligator were not sure where Cascade Lake is located so I included a map of the are. You can see that the lake is connected to a creek which would allow the animal to travel through residential parts of the city endangering children and pets.
At least one parson was having fun with the whole gator situation yesterday on facebook.
Rochester police are aware of the animal and are actively working on removing the alligator.
